Amongus (also known as Amogus, Amungus, Mungus, or SUS,) occurs when the key phrase Among Us is mentioned in a text or media article, and/or when something (a shape, object, or beast) resembles a character from the hit social deduction game Among Us. The phenomenon was first invented by the game in 2018, and then spread out to everything else in all directions.

Anything can become Amongus.

And when it takes on the form of the imposter it becomes quite Sus..............................

Sometimes you might turn red. This is called Impostor Syndrome. It drives some people to madness.

Some impostors are geen. This is called Geen.

History

Among Us was first released on June 15, 2018 to little fanfare.

Its popularity was first predicted by the video This Meme Is from the Future. You Don't Understand It Yet, where a cyan Amongus is slapped by some sort of object.

Amogus would turn critical in 2020, when people were locked inside and forced to do psychological experiments on each other. Among Us and the Streamer formed a symbiotic relationship where one made the other more internet popular.

The curse began to wear off in Summer 2021, when pet owners got tired of their Amonglets and started donating them to the local Amazon returns bin stores.

Appearances

In an episode of Peep and the Big Wide World, Peep dyes himself red and scares his friend Quack by becoming the Red impostor. This is an example of how sus ruins lives.

The fifth generation of Pokémon introduced the fungus-shaped Amoonguss.

Vroomaroundus Bugus is a species of insect that appears in the Cars franchise.
