Basically, people find SOC-017 supernaturally "compelling", even people who are normally "stoic" or otherwise unaffected. This feeling is not universally linked to any specific compulsive desire or behavior, but is instead a passive feeling similar to intrigue, curiosity, amusement, or interest. People may ascribe certain qualities to SOC-017, such as anthropomorphic characteristics (including pronouns) or hyperbolic situations - e.g. "I think it's beeping at me", "He looks kind", "I want to tuch it".

Occasionally the Compelling Object will switch to another object, but luckily they are pretty easy to find. When this switch occurs, the previous Compelling Object, now labeled an instance of SOC-017-001, loses its weird abnormal compellingness. People may still find instances of SOC-017-001 compelling, but it's also possible for people to "get bored" of it or not find it compelling it all. We continue to monitor these instances anyway in case there's other special things about them or the compellingness comes back.

From now on, those of you guys working on SOC-017 are going to be briefed on what a "Weird amount" of compellingness is. Just because everyone on the staff team finds an object compelling doesn't mean that it is an instance of SOC-017. First of all, to this date, we have yet to see SOC-017 occupy two objects at once - not that it's impossible but every time someone has suggested it, it has been wrong. Second of all, most if not all of you guys are on the spectrum and we tend to find random shit Compelling all the time. You guys know this.

Second of all, STOP FUCKING POSTING SOC-017 ON SOCIAL MEDIA. We have had at least one instance of SOC-017-001 previously inspire violent urges in people. Yes we haven't seen any problems come of this so far but it's still a bad idea. And stop sending it to each other to derail conversations into a Compelling Object Circlejerk. Holy shit

The Compelling Object is a Stupid Object that, you guessed it, is compelling. SOG-017-A is currently this plush cube with a caracal cat's face on it. It fits really nicely in to a conveniently shaped box we have lying around and it's really fun to put it inside and take it out of the box repeatedly. But don't do that. It's not a touy

Basically, people find SOC-017-A supernaturally "compelling", even people who are normally "stoic" or otherwise unaffected.

When this switch occurs, the previous Compelling Object, now an instance of SOG-017-B, loses its weird abnormal compellingness. People may still find instances of SOC-017-B compelling, but it's also possible for people to "get bored" of it or not find it compelling it all. We continue to monitor these instances anyway in case there's other special things about them or the compellingness comes back.

Consider it Compelling. Sorry I cant' think of anything else

Email I got about this object

From now on, those of you guys working on SOC-017 are going to be briefed on what a "Weird amount" of compellingness is. Just because everyone on the staff team finds an object compelling doesn't mean that it is an instance of SOC-017-A. First of all, to this date, we have yet to see SOC-017-A occupy two objects at once - not that it's impossible but every time someone has suggested it, it has been wrong. Second of all, most if not all of you guys are on the spectrum and we tend to find random shit Compelling all the time. You guys know this.

Second of all, STOP FUCKING POSTING SOC-017-A ON SOCIAL MEDIA. We have had at least one instance of SOC-017-B previously inspire violent urges in people. Yes we haven't seen any problems come of this so far but it's still a bad idea. And stop sending it to each other to derail conversations into a Compelling Object Circlejerk. Holy shit
